DescriptionIn March 1979 the Minister of Lands appointed a special Caucus Committee to conduct a review of the administrative structure of National Parks and Reserves administered by the Department of Lands and Survey and to report to him with recommendations. The Committee originally appointed, comprised: W R Austin (Chairman), H N Austin, R L Bell, I J Shearer, C B Townshend

On the departure of Mt W R Austin on an American
Leadership Grant to study National Parks and Reserves in the United States (see page 3), Mr R L Bell was appointed Chairman. Mt R M Gray was added to the Committee at this point.' When Mr Bell left on a brief trip to Asia, Mt H N Austin took the Chair, retaining it for the remainder of the review.
