DescriptionIn 1975 the Franz Josef Glacier retreated to a point where Tourist Hotel Corporation guided tours could not access the glacier. It was decided that a suspension bridge should be constructed across the Waiho river below the Glacier terminal. It was a challenging project at a very dangerous site. The project was led by Alex Miller and successfully completed with the assistance of Rangi Tinarau, a Glacier guide and Graeme Ayres Park assistant at Franz Josef Last edited by: Murray Reedy
