"To answer your question, Alec did not change his name, which was Alexander Bruce Miller, but rather he adopted usage of his first name in accordance with his late father’s wishes before he died. His mother had decided to end the confusion of a succession of Alec Millers, of which A.B. was the eleventh! Those who knew him in earlier years knew him as Bruce and those from the 70s on knew him as Alec."
