DescriptionDouglas Rock hut was built in 1931 to replace the 'bivvy' of the same name which was located a few hundred metres up valley. The original rock shelter was named after renowned explorer Charley Douglas who made a systematic survey of the Copland Valley in 1892. For a comprehensive report on the historic heritage of the Copland valley see Jackie Breens Heritage assessment report 2007 Last edited by: Murray Reedy
