Date1984DescriptionMike Cole is talking to a group of volunteers in the plant nursery on Tiritiri Matangi. The nursery was set up to support the revegetation project started in 1984. The project was initiated by the Hauraki Gulf Maritime Park, park board.

The idea to revegetate the island started with the first Chief Ranger, Wally Sander, and expanded from there with assistance from Auckland University.

Mike Cole was employed by the park board to assist with the landscaping and revegetation programme and lived on the island. Last edited by: Robin Mossman
